Job summary

Cleanaway, Australia’s leader in sustainable waste management, is seeking a technically oriented leader to oversee two hazardous waste operations sites. You will translate chemistry into safe, compliant and commercially sound decisions while working directly with chemists, supervisors and frontline teams.

This field-based role spans Potassium Street and Krypton Street facilities. You will act as the principal technical adviser for waste treatment and site operating decisions, coaching teams on

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry, Applied Science or closely related scientific discipline.
  • Experience applying chemistry within an industrial, environmental, hazardous materials or operational setting.
  • Strong understanding of sampling, laboratory analysis and QA/QC principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical information and convert it into operational decisions.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical leadership to others.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance, waste treatment, chemical compatibility or related processing activities.

  • Assess waste streams, treatment capability and operational constraints to support safe processing decisions.

  • Develop procedures and decision pathways that improve consistency and operational performance.
  • Contribute technical expertise to infrastructure, process improvement and site development initiatives.

The Opportunity

Provide technical leadership across two hazardous waste operations sites, helping translate complex chemistry into safe, compliant and commercially sound decisions.
