Job summary

The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) invites applications for a senior Technical Implementation Lead in the Advanced Therapies Program. This fixed-term role (three years) offers 0.8 to 1.0 EFT in a senior leadership capacity to build pharmacy and laboratory capability for gene therapies, cell therapies, and emerging treatments at RCH.

The Technical Implementation Lead, Advanced Therapies Program is a senior professional leadership role responsible for building the pharmacy and laboratory capability and capacity required to safely, effectively and sustainably deliver advanced therapies at RCH. The successful applicant must hold a pharmacy qualification and registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia. Importantly, this is a broad strategic leadership and implementation role spanning both pharmacy and laboratory services, rather than a traditional operational pharmacy position.

Working in partnership with the Program Manager, professional discipline leaders and clinical, research and operational stakeholders, you will lead the development of systems, governance frameworks, workforce capability, quality systems and operational requirements needed to implement gene therapies, cell therapies, precision medicines, personalised therapeutics and other emerging therapies.

You will bring advanced pharmacy expertise and a strong understanding of operational delivery, while focusing primarily on strategic service development, capability building and implementation leadership. You will help ensure pharmacy and laboratory services are ready not only for the advanced therapies being delivered today, but also for the rapidly evolving treatments of the future.

This is a fixed term position for three years until September 2029, working0.8 to 1.0 EFT within the Advanced Therapies Program. Job share opportunities will be considered. The classification for this role is Grade 4 TA20 - TA22 ( $ 127,535.20 - $ 148,309.20 per annum plus super)
