Cotton On Group in Geelong is seeking a skilled Technical Designer to drive fit, quality and consistency for our Womenswear range on a 6 month fixed-term contract. You will deliver expert technical guidance, create patterns, and maintain grade rules to ensure reliable sizing and product performance.

You will collaborate with overseas suppliers and product teams, mentor junior designers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Design, Textiles, or Pattern Making.
• Expertise in garment fit, pattern making, and garment construction.
• Proficiency in Lectra; Adobe/CAD knowledge advantageous.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Technical Designer to play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional fit, quality, and consistency for our garments in our Womenswear category on a 6 month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will ensure that every product meets our high standards and resonates with our customers. You will provide expert technical advice, create patterns, and maintain grade rules to ensure consistency in fit and sizing.

Collaborating closely with suppliers and product teams, you will oversee garment construction, offer cost-effective solutions, and support the delivery of products that our customers love. By fostering strong relationships, sharing knowledge, and mentoring Product Developers, you will contribute to a high-performing, values-driven culture. This role is perfect for someone passionate about combining technical expertise with creative problem-solving to achieve outstanding results.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualification in Design, Textiles, or Pattern Making.
• Expertise in garment fit, pattern making, and garment construction.
• Proficiency in Lectra, with Adobe/CAD knowledge being advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, fibers, and accurate garment measuring.
• Experience working with overseas suppliers and maintaining quality standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
• Personal effectiveness and a commitment to excellence in execution.
• Proven ability to mentor others, build relationships, and champion a positive culture.
• Strong initiative and commercial acumen.
