Job summary

XPT Software Australia is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our Melbourne team. The role focuses on technical BA work in Agile settings, ensuring accurate data flows, data quality, and regulatory compliance across complex enterprise systems.

The candidate will elicit and document requirements for data management, mapping, lineage, and migration, translating complex needs into actionable Jira Epics and User Stories while collaborating with stakeholders to meet data

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technical business analysis experience in Agile environments.
• Experience in data management, data mapping, data lineage and data migration.
• Strong SQL and data mining skills; ability to break requirements into Jira Epics and User Stories.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical business analysis within Agile delivery environments, bringing 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements related to data management, data mapping, data consumption, and data lineage across multiple systems.
• Define, validate, and document end to end data flows between source and target systems in collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Translate complex business and system requirements into clear, structured documentation suitable for both technical and business audiences.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data requirements are clearly understood, accurately captured, and aligned with overall data platform objectives.
• Support data quality, reconciliation, and validation activities to maintain data integrity across projects.
• Apply strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with cross functional squads to support end to end project build and delivery.
• Actively work with data to discover, identify, curate, and model datasets to deliver high quality business outcomes.
• Bring prior experience in Superannuation, Pensions, Insurance, or Investments (preferred).

• Proven experience working in large, complex enterprise data environments.
• Strong expertise in requirements gathering, gap analysis, and business consulting.
• Demonstrated experience in data mapping, data modelling, and data migration initiatives.
• Strong SQL and data mining skills.
• Hands on experience breaking business requirements into Jira Epics and User Stories.
• Good working knowledge of Confluence for requirements documentation and workflow definition.
• Proven analytical experience working with cloud platforms and databases.
• Strong facilitation and requirements management skills within Agile delivery models.

Desired Technical Experience

• Python coding experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Financial Services domain experience.
• Strong experience working with Agile practices.
