Job summary

TetraScience seeks an experienced data engineering leader to guide a team of SDEs in building scalable data platforms and productizable solutions. You will collaborate with product managers and scientists to translate complex data needs into production-grade pipelines.

You will mentor engineers, drive Agile practices, and ensure quality through comprehensive testing. Preferred experience includes Python, SQL, React/Streamlit, and pre-clinical data contexts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building solutions as a Data Engineer or similar.
• 10+ years working in Python and SQL with a focus on data.
• Experience leading engineering teams with five or more direct reports.
• Experience managing multiple customer-focused implementation projects across cross-functional teams.
• Experience with data plotting dashboarding tools like React and/or Streamlit is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of SDEs and deliver data engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Analysts and Architects to translate data requirements.
• Build data models, prototypes, and reusable Python libraries.
• Create high-quality data pipelines with unit and integration tests.
• Develop dashboards using React, Streamlit, or Jupyter notebooks.
• Ensure quality with tests and promote better developer practices.
• Drive customer value and successful delivery of projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve team efficiency.
