Job summary

AECOM in New South Wales is expanding its Water Infrastructure Team due to major contracts. You will work on water and wastewater projects across planning, design, and construction support, collaborating with interstate and international offices.

You will lead technical practice for the civil group, mentor junior engineers, and manage projects from inception to tender and construction while ensuring quality assurance and strong client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in water and/or wastewater projects including civil water networks, hydraulic/pump selection, transient analysis, buried structural pipe calculations, thrust block design.
  • Knowledge of applicable Australian codes and standards.
  • Passion for delivering high quality work, mentoring, leadership & collaboration and excellent client and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical practice for the civil group and guide the team.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers to grow talent.
  • Contribute to projects from inception through bidding, concept design, detailed design, tendering, and construction phase support.
  • Ensure all quality assurance processes are followed, delivering on time and within budget for projects in planning, design and/or construction support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across sectors.

Job Description

Due to significant contract awards within our ANZ Water business, we are expanding our Water Infrastructure Team in New South Wales.

The Water Infrastructure group provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects covering water and wastewater treatment, dams, asset management, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure, mining, and defence sectors, with a key focus on supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.

By joining our team, you will work alongside our industry leading experts. You will also have the opportunity to work and collaborate with interstate and international offices.

How you’ll make a difference
  • Play a key role in technical practice leadership for our civil group.
  • You will provide guidance to the team, mentoring junior engineers and designers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline.
  • You will have the opportunity to get involved in managing and completing projects from inception, including involvement in the bidding phase, concept design, detailed design, tendering, and construction phase support.
  • Ensure all quality assurance processes are followed, delivering on time and within budget for projects in planning, design and/or construction support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships working with various clients across a range of sectors.
Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications & CPEng
  • Ideally, 20+ years relevant experience
