Job summary

The University of New South Wales is seeking a Team Leader – General Administration within the Engineering School Shared Services to lead and manage the general administration functions and the administration team. The role reports to the Deputy Faculty Executive Director with a dotted line to School Managers and has a direct report.

Location: Kensington, Sydney on campus four days a week. Full-time fixed term to September 2027 with a salary of AU$118,483 per annum plus 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification with experience or equivalent competence.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills under pressure.
• Ability to supervise, influence and guide staff.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven customer service experience across levels.
• High computer literacy with MS Office proficiency.
• Project management experience with initiative and judgement.
• Strong numeracy skills and budget understanding.

The Opportunity

The Team Leader, General Administration is responsible for leading and managing administrative services and the general administration team within the Faculty of Engineering’s eight Schools. The role reports to the Deputy Faculty Executive Director with a dotted reporting line to the School Managers and has a direct report.

• Salary, Level 7: $118,483 per annum + 17% superannuation
• Full Time: 35 hours
• Fixed Term to September 2027
• Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia (on campus attendance 4 days a week)

Skills & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, influence and guide staff.
• Highly advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
• Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated project management experience with demonstrated ability to act with a high level of independence, initiative, problem solving, analysis, and judgment, providing accurate and appropriate outcomes.
• Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and monitor budgets.
• An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
