Location: Mount Druitt

Commencement Date: January 2026

In 2026 LWB Education will launch our first four campuses in Newcastle Grafton Mount Druitt and Dubbo each with a Teacher and Youth Worker for up to 15 students.

As a Teacher you will provide flexible engaging learning for young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education fostering an inclusive culturally responsive and trauma-informed classroom.

You will partner with families and community agencies to support students champion their needs and facilitate smooth learning transitions while fostering a safe compliant and supportive learning environment.

Support for this role is provided by the NSW School Principal Administration Officer and the National LWB Education team

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning programs including integrated applied and accredited learning literacy and numeracy support and individual learning plans.
  • Create an inclusive culturally responsive environment that supports wellbeing engagement and strong community connections.
  • Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic practices to manage behaviours and promote positive outcomes for young people.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with young people and their families supporting participation life skills and cultural identity.
  • Work collaboratively with teams and external agencies to provide coordinated support and smooth transitions.
  • Maintain accurate records meet compliance requirements and actively contribute to professional development and a safe supportive learning environment.
Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in Education (Primary and / or Secondary)
  • Active NESA accreditation or ability to obtain (per 2024 NSW Teacher Accreditation Manual).
  • Proven expertise in designing and delivering a variety of flexible learning options tailored to the diverse needs characteristics and learning styles of young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
  • Skilled in differentiating instruction and adapting approaches to support neurodivergent learners as needed.
  • High level communication skills including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with young people families and internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of NSW curriculum requirements including NESA syllabus outcomes for Years 710. (Home NSW Curriculum NSW Education Standards Authority)
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and ability to drive 12 seat vehicles.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
