Job summary

Methodist Ladies' College invites applications for a Full Time Teacher Librarian commencing Term 2, 2027. The role involves leadership in curriculum design, literacy programs, and collection development across Walton Library and Junior School Library.

As a Teacher Librarian, you will collaborate with Educational Services, Technical Services and AV teams, mentor staff, and promote reading through events and digital literacy initiatives, while upholding child safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing literacies across librarianship including research, inquiry, information, digital, media, literature and reading.
• Collaborate to guide and promote programs, services and resources fostering reading enjoyment and comprehension.
• Contribute to development of physical and digital collections aligned with curriculum and diverse resources.
• Collaborate with digital literacy team to integrate technologies to support student learning (Years 7–10).
• Assist in promoting library events (Book Week, author visits) and co-curricular activities.
• Ensure equity of access to libraries and resources for all students and staff.
• Uphold copyright law and confidentiality in information management.
• Engage with families and community to foster reading interest.
