Job summary

Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College invites applications for a Teacher Librarian to enrich teaching and learning across Preschool to Year 12. The role focuses on fostering reading culture, inquiry and lifelong learning, while collaborating with staff to develop engaging physical and digital learning environments.

As part of the teaching team with a teaching load, you will implement the college framework, promote information literacy and empower students to be ethical, independent learners who value

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practice.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across K–12.
• Commitment to fostering a culture of reading and lifelong learning.
• Knowledge of information literacy, digital citizenship and ethical research.
• Commitment to Christian ethos and values of Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College.
• Education Support qualification or equivalent, or actively pursuing.
• ALIA membership eligibility or equivalent for Teacher Librarianship.
• First aid and CPR certificate.
• NSW Working with Children Check.
• Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican context considered).

Responsibilities

• Support curriculum through high-quality learning resources and digital literacy.
• Collaborate with teachers across Preschool to Year 12 to enrich reading and inquiry.
• Develop and manage engaging physical and digital learning environments.
• Contribute to pastoral and spiritual life in line with Anglican ethos.
