Eaton Community College is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technologies Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator with the knowledge and practical skills to teach in one or more of the areas of Woodwork, Metalwork and/or Engineering. Expertise in any of these areas is welcomed, with the ability to teach across multiple areas highly regarded. The successful applicant will ideally be passionate about practical, hands‑on learning and able to provide engaging and purposeful learning experiences for students with a diverse range of abilities and interests. You should have a sound understanding of the Western Australian Technologies Curriculum, with experience teaching across Years 7–12. The College has excellent Design and Technologies facilities and is keen to continue developing and expanding the range of learning opportunities available to students. Depending on the skills, experience and interests of the successful applicant, there is scope to develop programs across areas such as Woodwork, Metalwork, Engineering, Formula 1 Racing, Jewellery, Robotics, Mechatronics and other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related initiatives, including the use of CAD, 3D printing and laser cutting technologies. Applicants should display strong practical workshop skills, safe workshop management and the ability to establish an engaging learning environment through effective classroom management, explicit teaching and differentiated instruction. Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3‑year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‑year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school. *Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
