Job summary

TAFE Queensland is seeking a dedicated Automotive Teacher for a permanent full-time role at Bracken Ridge Campus to deliver high-quality training in classroom, online, and workplace settings.

You will impart extensive industry knowledge to students, supporting their career readiness and currency in automotive practice. The position reports to the Business Manager and offers professional development, relocation support, and flexible work options.

Qualifications

• AUR30620 and/or AUR31120 qualifications or equivalent.
• Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.
• Evidence of undertaking professional development in vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Automotive subjects to students in classrooms, online, or workplace settings.
• Share extensive industry knowledge to influence students' career paths and competency development.
• Report to the Business Manager and participate in program planning and delivery.

Education

AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology

AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)

The Role

We have an exciting permanent full-time Teacher position available to join our Automotive Training team at TAFE Queensland’s Bracken Ridge Campus.

As a TAFE Teacher in Automotive, you have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry persons by sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting.

This position reports to the Business Manager.

• Four (4) weeks recreation leave (accrued annually)

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must possess AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and/or AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent, and the following:

• current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
• current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
• evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Additionally, to become a TAFE Queensland teacher you must hold, or be willing to obtain, a qualification in adult education. Primarily this qualification is TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent.

Please note applicants need not necessarily possess teaching experience, as the right candidate may be trained and developed through coaching, mentoring and partnering. Importance is placed on possession of the appropriate qualifications, industry experience and the right attitude.
