Queensland Government is seeking a Teacher Aide (Educational Interpreter - Auslan) to provide Auslan-English interpreting in classrooms and school settings, ensuring Deaf and Hard of Hearing students access curriculum content.

You will work with teachers, specialists and school leadership to maintain professional standards and support inclusive, culturally safe learning environments across Queensland.

As a Teacher Aide (Educational Interpreter - Auslan), you will:

• Provide Auslan-English interpreting in classroom and school settings


• Support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to access curriculum content and classroom interactions


• Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists and school leadership


• Maintain professional interpreting standards and ethical boundaries


• Contribute to inclusive education practices and culturally safe learning environments

Appointments may be Permanent or Temporary, Full-time or Part-time, depending on school need and available vacancies.

• Understand that appointment will occur only when a suitable vacancy becomes available

The recruitment panel will convene monthly to review applications and assess suitability for inclusion in the pool.
