Job summary

PKF Australia Limited is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing Tax Consulting team in Newcastle, with the option for Sydney base for the right candidate. You will advise corporate, private and family business clients and travel to Newcastle as needed to strengthen relationships and support regional growth.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' local experience as a Tax Manager in professional services.
• Experience delivering tax consulting and advisory services to business clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality tax consulting and advisory services to corporate, private and family business clients.
• Advise on corporate tax matters, business structuring and restructures.
• Support due diligence engagements and transaction-related tax advice.
• Deliver advice across tax consolidations, permanent establishments, tax treaties, capital gains tax and Division 7A.
• Assisting clients with tax governance and tax effect accounting matters.
• Advising on international tax issues including Pillar Two, CFCs, hybrid mismatch rules and thin capitalisation.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives.
• Coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members.

While working with a diverse portfolio of clients across the Newcastle region, you will be expected to travel to Newcastle periodically to meet with clients, strengthen key relationships, and support the continued growth of our presence in the region.As a trusted advisor, you'll work alongside a highly regarded team of specialists, providing strategic and commercially focused tax advice to a diverse portfolio of corporate, private and family business clients. What you need to apply

• CA or CPA qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years' local experience as a Tax Manager within a professional services environment.
• Experience delivering tax consulting and advisory services to business clients.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
• Experience reviewing and managing technical work prepared by junior staff.
• Previous experience within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting/advisory firm (highly regarded).
• CTA or Master of Tax qualification (desirable but not essential).
• A passion for networking, relationship building and business development.
• A willingness to travel periodically to Newcastle to meet with clients.
