Job summary

Intuitive Recruitment Pty is seeking a Tax Director to lead the tax function across a diverse portfolio of investment funds and entities. You will shape tax strategy, advise on complex transactions, and ensure robust governance while partnering with investment, finance, legal, and risk teams.

You will mentor finance and tax professionals, oversee compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and report to senior leadership on tax matters and risk implications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of tax experience in funds management or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of investment funds, trust structures, and collective investment vehicles.
• Experience advising on complex transactions and investment structures.
• Deep understanding of Australian tax legislation with exposure to international tax matters.
• Qualified CA/CPA/CTA (or equivalent).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication with non-tax professionals.
• Leadership experience with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead all tax matters across a portfolio of investment funds and related entities.
• Provide strategic tax advice on fund structuring, new products, acquisitions, disposals, and investment transactions.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including income tax, GST, FATCA, CRS, and international tax considerations.
• Review and approve fund distribution calculations, tax disclosures, investor reporting, and annual tax statements.
• Partner with investment, finance, legal, and operations teams to embed tax considerations in commercial decisions.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisers, auditors, regulators, and service providers.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess implications for structures and governance.
• Provide guidance on complex tax matters including cross-border investments and tax governance.
