Job summary

A national property developer is seeking a Financial Accountant to manage tax compliance across all entities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CA or CPA qualification, and 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting. Job description

Our client is a dynamic award-winning national property developer with a focus on commercial developments, residential and mixed-use projects. Due to growth, we are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team. Within this role you will manage the organization's tax compliance across all entitles.

The role:
  • Prepare all information required to meet tax compliance obligations, including income tax, FBT, GST, PAYG, and payroll tax for group entities with the assistance of the external tax advisors.
  • Ensure timely lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
  • Assist with tax provision calculations and journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts within the general ledger.
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Commerce.
  • CA or CPA qualification (or working towards).
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in financial accounting or tax compliance (ideally within a group or corporate environment).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation (Income Tax, GST, FBT, Payroll Tax).
  • Proficiency in Xero or similar.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with consolidated group tax reporting.
  • Exposure to multi-entity organisations.
  • Experience liaising with the ATO and external advisors.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and able to work both independently and within a team.
