Job summary

St Patrick’s College is seeking a highly organised TAS Assistant to support the Technological and Applied Studies Faculty. The role covers preparing resources, maintaining workshops and equipment, and ensuring safe, well-organised learning spaces for practical classes.

You will work closely with TAS teachers, contribute to safe learning environments, manage stock, and assist with routine maintenance and safety checks. This is a permanent full-time role commencing Term 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• A working understanding of the Catholic ethos of a school.
• Demonstrated understanding of child safeguarding values in practice.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, take initiative, and manage priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff and students.
• Ability to identify and implement improvements that enhance quality, safety and efficiency within the TAS Faculty.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and other digital systems relevant to the role.
• Commitment to safe working practices and College policies.

Responsibilities

• Providing operational and technical support to the TAS Faculty for day-to-day workshop operations.
• Preparing resources and equipment for practical lessons and maintaining workshops and machinery.
• Managing stock levels and coordinating ordering of consumables and equipment.
• Supporting teachers and students during practical activities and ensuring a safe learning environment.
• Liaising with suppliers and contractors for equipment servicing, repairs and installations.
• Maintaining records of safety checks and equipment maintenance.
