WSP in Australia is seeking a motivated Tailings Engineer to join our Mine Advisory team. You will work with experienced engineers and project managers on tailings and mine waste projects, contributing to safer, compliant solutions across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Mining or Environmental) or related discipline.
• 5+ years experience in mining, consulting or project delivery environment; exposure to both technical and project engineering is ideal.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in mine tailings and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to learn from senior technical specialists.
• Ability to travel to site as required.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of tailings and mine waste projects.
• Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, and reporting.
• Prepare scopes of work, design inputs, risk assessments, and progress reports.
• Participate in field investigations, site inspections, monitoring campaigns, and operational assessments.
• Help manage stakeholder engagement with clients, contractors, regulators, and internal specialists.
• Ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with industry standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery and technical workflows.
