Job summary

The Systems Engineer role at the Department of Defence focuses on delivering high-integrity voice and data communications systems for mounted and dismounted operations, using tactical radio and range-extension solutions. You will work within the CA31-RAILS Engineering Manager's team to ensure design and safety compliance.

Essentially, you will manage risk assessments, safety case development, and hazard logs, engaging stakeholders to meet LMSM Second Edition and Regulation 17 requirements, while

Qualifications

• NV1 security clearance or higher is required for the role.
• On-site work 3 days a week minimum; no remote locations.
• Qualifications/experience as described in the selection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex engineering activities and provide advice in systems engineering under limited direction.
• Exercise assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
• Develop and review engineering reports, briefs, and documentation for governance and approval.
• Apply engineering knowledge, define issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Build positive relationships and participate in team activities.
• Communicate with stakeholders via reports and presentations.
• Assess scoping, planning, and design packages and provide recommendations.
• Ensure delivered materiel meets requirements and regulatory frameworks.
• Incorporate safety considerations into systems engineering tasks.
