Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Tactical Buyer to deliver compliant procurement support across its Indirect Purchasing strategy. You will process purchase orders accurately, onboard suppliers, and manage data across P2P platforms while supporting supplier relationships and contract renewals.

Based in Australia, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, ensuring compliance with Sandvik policies.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations (Purchasing and Procurement) or a tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
• With 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, ideally in indirect categories.
• Proven ability to manage purchase orders, supplier onboarding and compliance checks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong numerical analysis, reporting and data-handling skills; highly organized, self-motivated, and target-driven.

Responsibilities

• Support supplier onboarding processes, including Trade Express screening, Proxora ABC checks, and document collection to ensure compliance.
• Assist with procurement activities across Sandvik’s Procure-to-Pay platforms, including spend plan data, supplier setup, marketplace and Punch-out optimisation.
• Maintain accurate supplier databases and support vendor master cleanup and deactivation, plus employee details in the telecommunications portal.
• Support supplier contract administration, monitor end dates, update price files and store documentation in SRM.
• Investigate and resolve supplier account holds or invoice discrepancies with root-cause analysis and stakeholder follow-up.
• Process and finalise free-text purchase orders with accuracy, compliance and value in line with Sandvik policy.
• Participate in supplier meetings, providing insights to enhance relationships and strategic procurement initiatives.
