Qualifications

• CA/CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Strong experience in financial accounting, fixed assets or capital accounting.
• Exposure to ERP implementation, finance transformation or large-scale systems projects.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Dynamics 365, Great Plains or similar ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of capital and fixed asset accounting processes within the new ERP environment.
• Own asset and capital data migration activities, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation of financial information.
• Drive UAT and resolve system and data issues.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, controls and governance frameworks.
• Coach offshore team members through training and transition activities.
• Ensure timely completion of journals, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
• Partner with finance, technology and stakeholders to optimise processes.
• Support audit requirements and maintain strong financial controls.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join a high-performing team of a large, multi-channel Australian retail business during a significant ERP transformation. This 12-month fixed-term contract role will play a pivotal part in establishing new asset accounting processes, embedding robust controls, and ensuring a smooth transition to a new operating model.

Working across finance, technology and operational teams, you will help shape the future-state asset accounting function while ensuring continuity, accuracy and financial integrity throughout the transformation journey.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Asset Management, this position combines technical accounting expertise with project delivery, systems implementation and process transformation. You will be responsible for standing up new capital accounting processes, supporting SAP S/4HANA implementation activities, overseeing data migration, and facilitating knowledge transfer to offshore teams.

This role offers significant stakeholder engagement and provides the opportunity to influence how finance operations are structured, governed and delivered into the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of capital and fixed asset accounting processes within the new ERP environment
• Own asset and capital data migration activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness and reconciliation of financial information
• Drive user acceptance testing (UAT) and support the identification, investigation and resolution of system and financial data issues
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, controls and governance frameworks
• Coach and support offshore team members through structured training, knowledge transfer and operational transition activities
• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of journals, reconciliations and month-end reporting requirements
• Partner with finance, technology and business stakeholders to optimise processes and improve operational outcomes
• Support audit requirements and maintain strong financial control and reporting standards

About You

You are a technically strong accountant with experience operating in complex environments where systems, processes and people are evolving. You combine strong financial accounting capability with a continuous improvement mindset and are comfortable influencing stakeholders across finance, technology and operations.

You will bring:

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• Strong experience in financial accounting, fixed assets or capital accounting
• Exposure to ERP implementation, finance transformation or large-scale systems projects
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Dynamics 365, Great Plains or similar ERP platforms
• Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities
• Experience working with shared services or offshore delivery teams will be highly regarded
