Job summary

The Perigon Group is seeking a Systems Accountant to join a well-established organisation in Brisbane on an initial 6 month contract, with the potential for extension. This role blends accounting knowledge with systems, reporting and process improvement to boost Finance team efficiency.

You will maintain, support and improve finance systems, work with Finance and IT to identify enhancements, and contribute to month end processes and financial reporting with data integrity across systems.

Qualifications

• Completed or studying CPA/CA or equivalent qualification.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting, maintaining or improving finance systems.
• Exposure to system implementations, upgrades, testing or process improvement projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication with Finance and IT stakeholders.
• Attention to detail with data accuracy and system integrity.

The Company

Are you a Finance professional who enjoys working with finance systems, improving processes and finding ways to make Finance teams more efficient?

We are currently recruiting for a Systems Accountant to join a well-established organisation on an initial 6 month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an opportunity to combine your accounting knowledge with your interest in systems, reporting and process improvement.

Working closely with the Finance and IT teams, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving finance systems, resolving system issues and supporting projects that enhance the efficiency of the Finance function.

This role will suit someone with a strong understanding of accounting processes who enjoys working with technology and identifying practical ways to improve existing systems and workflows.

The Role

This 6 month contract will suit an immediately available or soon to be available Systems Accountant, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. There is potential for the contract to be extended.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintain, support and improve finance systems to ensure they meet business requirements
• Work closely with Finance and IT teams to identify and implement system improvements
• Review finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and automation
• Assist with system upgrades, implementations, testing and troubleshooting
• Support month end processes, financial reporting and data integrity across finance systems
• Investigate system issues and work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve them
• Document system processes, procedures and controls
• Assist with finance projects, process changes and system enhancements
