Job summary

People2People AU SF is seeking a technically strong System Accountant to join a major ERP and billing transformation project in Melbourne. The role sits at the interface of Finance and Technology, translating accounting requirements into system outcomes and supporting the implementation.

The Finance SME will work across the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, data migration, documentation, training and business readiness activities.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
• Strong accounting fundamentals
• Experience in Finance Systems, ERP project accounting or Finance Transformation
• Participation in ERP implementation projects
• Exposure to UAT, data migration and reconciliation activities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to build relationships across Finance and Technology teams

An exciting opportunity exists for a technically strong accountant to join a major ERP and billing transformation project as a System Accountant.

This role sits at the intersection of Finance and Technology, acting as the key conduit between Finance, project teams, stakeholders and implementation partners. You will play a vital role in ensuring accounting and business requirements are translated into effective system outcomes while supporting a successful system implementation.

As the Finance SME, you will contribute across the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, data migration, documentation, training and business readiness activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Finance SME for a major Finance & Billing transformation project
• Translate accounting and operational requirements into system functionality
• Partner with Finance, IT, project teams and external stakeholders
• Lead UAT planning, execution and sign-off activities

• Contribute to solution design and configuration decisions

About You

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion)
• Strong accounting fundamentals
• Previous Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, ERP Project Accounting or Finance Transformation experience
• Experience participating in ERP implementation projects
• Exposure to UAT, data migration and reconciliation activities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to build relationships across both Finance and Technology teams

Highly Regarded

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience
• Finance and billing system implementation experience
• Process documentation and training development
• Utilities, infrastructure, government or regulated-environment experience
• Exposure to Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
