Job summary

Mitchell Shire Council is seeking a casual water-safety instructor to educate diverse age groups and run engaging programs at Seymour and Kilmore Leisure Centres. The role supports safe aquatic environments seven days a week during the summer season.

You will bring energy, strong communication and teamwork, plus a current Level 2 First Aid, Working with Children Check and an active water-safety accreditation. The position offers flexible casual hours with superannuation.

Qualifications

• Current Level 2 First Aid (HLTAID003)
• Working with Children Check (WWCC) current
• Current AUSTSWIM or similar accreditation
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to deliver engaging water safety programs

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

A typical day in the role includes educating a range of age groups on water safety by the development of fun and engagement programs, supporting the provision of a safe environment for patrons, ensuring that the Aquatic Facilities operates in a clean, hygienic and safe manner in accordance with health regulations and public safety requirements. Our Leisure Centres operate seven (7) days a week with outdoor pools running through the Summer Season.

This is a casual opportunity with the hourly rate beginning at 43.74 (LSO Band 3) plus superannuation.

Positions are available at both Seymour and Kilmore Leisure Centres.

You will be energetic, passionate and fun. You work well within a team, have outstanding communication skills and enjoy dealing with the public. You take initiative and are professional in your approach. You will possess a current level 2 first aid (HLTAID003, current Employee Working with Children Check and current AUSTSWIM or similar accreditation.
