Job summary

Landscape Sa Kangaroo Island is seeking a Sustainable Landscape Officer to protect and enhance Kangaroo Island's landscapes by working with landholders and communities to deliver sustainable land management outcomes.

The role combines community engagement, environmental stewardship, project delivery and regulatory responsibilities, including pest plant and animal control and water resource management, under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019.

Qualifications

• Experience in land management and community engagement.
• Knowledge of pest plant and animal control and water resource management.
• Ability to work with landholders and communities to deliver outcomes.

• Provide practical land management advice and education to landholders and community groups.
• Undertake compliance activities relating to pest plants, pest animals and water affecting activities under relevant legislation.
• Contribute to policy implementation and planning to achieve priorities within timeframes.

Play a key role in protecting and enhancing Kangaroo Island's unique landscapes by partnering with landholders and communities to deliver sustainable land management outcomes.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines community engagement, environmental stewardship, project delivery and regulatory responsibilities. As a Sustainable Landscape Officer, you will provide practical land management advice and education to landholders and community groups, with a focus on pest plant and animal control and water resource management.

You will support the development of sustainable land management strategies, helping the community to understand and meet their legislative responsibilities while achieving positive outcomes for their properties and the broader landscape.

As an authorised officer under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, you will undertake compliance activities relating to pest plants, pest animals and water affecting activities. The role also contributes to policy implementation and planning, ensuring key priorities are achieved within established timeframes.
