Job summary

Crowe Australia is seeking a Sustainability Reporting & Assurance Manager to drive the national capability for sustainability reporting and assurance. You will lead AASB S2 assurance engagements, develop internal capabilities, and advise clients on climate-related risks and disclosures.

You will develop climate strategies, decarbonisation pathways, and governance processes, while embedding Crowe’s methodology and training materials in collaboration with national teams.

Qualifications

• At least four years’ hands-on sustainability assurance experience, including leading or managing engagements and reviewing the work of others.
• Experience in sustainability, climate, risk, or advisory services.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., engineering, environmental science, accounting, economics).
• A CA, CPA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end limited and reasonable assurance engagements over AASB S2 disclosures and greenhouse gas information across a broad range of industries.
• Own the development of capabilities and competencies across internal teams to support sustainability assurance engagements, by designing and delivering training and coaching.
• Lead engagements with clients to identify and manage sustainability climate-related risks and opportunities, and assurance of disclosures including greenhouse gas emissions.

Your role, your contribution!

• Lead end-to-end limited and reasonable assurance engagements over AASB S2 disclosures and greenhouse gas information across a broad range of industries, from planning and risk assessment through testing, reporting and engagement close
• Own the development of capabilities and competencies across our internal teams to support the sustainability assurance engagements for audit clients, by designing and delivering practical training and coaching.
• Lead engagements with clients to support them with identifying and managing sustainability climate-related risks and opportunities, sustainability-related financial disclosures and assurance, including greenhouse gas emissions and energy reporting.
• Develop/Assure climate strategies, transition plans, and decarbonisation pathways aligned with business objectives.
• Develop/Assure climate scenario analysis, resilience assessments, Scope 3 calculation, and defining sustainability metrics and targets.
• Provide clear, practical advice in complex regulatory and stakeholder environments.
• Develop and embed Crowe’s sustainability assurance methodology, templates, technical guidance and quality processes aligned with ASSA 5000, in collaboration with national and Crowe Global technical teams.
• Develop proposals, scoping pricing and manage existing/prospective client relationships.

What you bring to the role!

At least four years’ hands-on sustainability assurance experience, including leading or managing engagements and reviewing the work of others

Experience in sustainability, climate, risk, or advisory services.

Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., engineering, environmental science, accounting, economics).

A CA, CPA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.

Strong working knowledge of AASB S2 standards, ASSA 5000, GHG Protocol and NGER Scheme. Experience with other framework such as TCFD, GRI, ISAE/ASAE 3000 would also be relevant.

Demonstrated ability in interpreting new standards, making and documenting complex judgements, applying professional scepticism, and translating requirements into practical methodology, workpapers and training materials.

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams; managing concurrent engagements, budgets and deadlines; reviewing audit-quality workpapers; coaching staff; and communicating confidently with finance leaders, boards, audit committees and external auditors..
