Job summary

Symal is seeking an experienced Civil Surveyor to support Melbourne projects. You will manage end-to-end survey activities across dynamic civil works, collaborating with site teams and guiding a growing survey capability as we scale.

Ideal candidates hold a Certificate IV in Survey with 5 years of civil surveying experience and strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and Trimble total stations. A valid driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Survey or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of survey experience within civil projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Trimble software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and deliver survey instructions with accuracy.
• Site visits with Engineers and Supervisors to clarify survey needs.
• Produce conformance reports and as-built surveys to keep projects on track.
• Identify risks and discrepancies in design prior to delivery.
• Maintain safety standards on survey work.

The role:

Our Melbourne team is seeking an experienced Civil Surveyor to play a key role in our growth across Northern adn Eastern Melbourne. You'll manage end-to-end survey activities across dynamic projects, collaborating with site teams while building the foundations to develop and lead your own team as we scale.

Your everyday:

• Bring survey requests to life by interpreting and delivering on instructions from the project team with accuracy and efficiency
• Get out on site, partnering with Engineers and Supervisors to walk through projects and ensure every survey requirement is clear, complete, and ready for action
• Take ownership of plan creation, producing high-quality conformance reports and detailed as-built surveys that keep projects on track
• Dive into design analysis, identifying potential risks, discrepancies, and opportunities before they impact delivery
• Champion a strong safety culture by delivering all survey works in line with client systems and Symal's safety standards

Who are you?

• Certificate IV in Survey or equivalent
• 5 years' survey experience with a civil background
• Experience in software programs AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center
• Experience with Trimble total stations and GPS equipment and remote machine control
• Valid driver's licence
