Job summary

VRH Dandenong is offering a full-time 12-month Veterinary Surgery Internship in their Dandenong facility. The role provides exposure to specialist surgical care, with a dedicated mentorship team and a structured learning program across soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurologic, and oncologic procedures.

You will work a 4-day week (Mon-Fri with no weekends or on-call), assist surgeons, participate in diagnostic imaging, and engage in academic activities such as journal club and intern presentations,

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualified Veterinarian (DVM, BVSc, or equivalent).
• Eligible for registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of Victoria.
• Prior clinical experience or rotating internship preferred but new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with consultations, diagnostic procedures, and a wide range of surgical cases (soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurologic, oncologic).
• Assist with anaesthesia, perioperative care, and patient recovery alongside surgery nurses.
