Job summary

Afford is seeking a Female Support Worker to provide high-quality support to clients in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting. The role focuses on upholding human rights and supporting clients to live their best lives within an inclusive community.

You will complete personal care, daily living tasks, and medication management while fostering independence. The position requires ongoing documentation, teamwork, and commitment to safeguarding rights, with a female-only occupational

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support or above.
• Commitment to safeguarding human rights and working in a purpose-driven organisation.
• Willingness to obtain checks and licenses (NDIS, Working with Children, driver license).
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to clients per individual support plans.
• Work shifts including active nights, sleepovers, weekdays and weekends.
• Assist with daily living activities: personal care, meals, medication management.
• Support community participation and social activities.
• Help clients develop life skills and promote independence.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.

What you will do:

• Provide personalised support to clients in accordance with their individual support plans
• Work a variety of shifts including active nights, sleepovers, weekdays, and weekends
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management
• Support the team in facilitating community participation and social activities
• Support clients in developing life skills and promoting independence
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation

What you will bring:

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support or above
• A passion for safeguarding human rights and a deep personal connection to working in a purpose-driven organisation
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and a current Class C Driver Licence
• A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Passport, Birth Certificate, or Citizenship Certificate to validate Australian work rights
• Willingness to complete a National and International Police Check (paid for by Afford)
