Job summary

Claro Disability Services is seeking a compassionate care worker to support people with complex needs in New South Wales. You’ll engage clients in mobility assistance, daily routines, communication, and meaningful activities, tailoring supports to each person’s goals and culture.

Responsibilities

• Chat with the client (and family/advocates) to understand goals and routines.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices as outlined in the care plan.
• Monitor medical plans, liaise with the care team about changes.
• Provide social time and participation aligned with client interests.
• Support autonomy and advocacy, respecting consent and promoting independence.
• Respect cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being.

What you’ll do

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get the know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices (wheelchairs, aids, etc.) as outlined in the plan
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being
