Job summary

The Rockhampton Grammar School invites enthusiastic educators to join our supply teacher pool across Primary and Secondary, commencing in Term 4 2026 or Term 1 2027.

As a casual Supply Teacher you will deliver instruction, contribute to a safe learning environment, and support school policies while covering classes, attending assemblies, and fulfilling duties as required by the Dean of Academic Staffing and Administration and Head of Primary.

The Rockhampton Grammar School is inviting enthusiastic and qualified educators to join our growing pool of Supply Teachers across both Secondary and Primary, starting in Term 4 2026 or Term 1 2027.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To teach classes at all times in accordance with industry standards. Teachers should not sit at their table for extended periods of time, but should move around the classroom, using the “roving patrol” technique – the use of electronic equipment for personal use is strictly prohibited;
• Contribute to the provision of a safe, secure learning environment;
• Maintain a professional standard of dress and behaviour;
• Implement and maintain the discipline and behavior policy of the school;
• Carry out any reasonable request from the Dean of Academic Administration and Staffing during your bookings i.e. lunchtime duties, parent evenings, exam invigilation;
• Carry out the duties of the ‘regular’ teacher as much as possible i.e. covering form classes, taking class registers, attending school assemblies, enforcing school rules;
• Observe school policy and ethos during your booking.

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The successful applicant will be subject to a "Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check" where applicable. The School undertakes several screening processes to ensure the appropriate protection of children and young people in its care. This includes reference checks, identity checks, qualification check and professional registration checks.
