Blackbook Executive partners with an FMCG business to recruit a Supply Planning Manager for a national role in Australia. The successful candidate will drive supply planning strategy, collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Planning teams to improve service levels, inventory outcomes and network costs.

You will contribute to S&OP, run scenario modelling, and lead CI initiatives to enhance planning processes and data integrity.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience within a manufacturing based environment across FMCG, Food, Beverage, Dairy or similarly aligned industry.
  • Proven ability to work at pace and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience managing the supply side of the S&OP process across a business previously.
  • Curiosity to solve problems and lead CI projects, establishing process for the business.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to articulate strategy from data.
  • Strong user of Excel, Power BI and ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of manufacturing and supply planning across the network, balancing demand and production capability.
  • Partner with sites to assess and improve planning assumptions, including rates, changeovers, sequencing and capacity.
  • Coordinate national raw material and packaging requirements with Procurement and site teams.
  • Manage and consolidate material ordering at a national level.
  • Review site plans and improve production flow and network efficiency.
  • Maintain inventory visibility across the network and identify variances and risks.
  • Evaluate warehouse capacity and recommend changes to flows and allocation.
  • Collaborate with Production, Logistics, Procurement and Planning to resolve constraints.
  • Support S&OP with planning models and scenario analysis.
  • Maintain accurate planning data and system inputs for reliable planning.

The Company

We are working in partnership with an FMCG business with a strong presence in the industry operating globally. They are seeking a Supply Planning Manager with significant exposure to the manufacturing sector, to drive the Supply Planning function nationally.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Planning, you’ll provide strategic oversight of supply planning across the network, identify emerging constraints and help shape solutions that improve service, cost and operational performance. You’ll also contribute to the S&OP cycle by providing clear analysis, scenario modelling and insights to support better business decisions. This is a highly collaborative role, partnering with Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Planning teams to strengthen planning processes, improve inventory outcomes and identify opportunities to continually enhance the supply network.

  • Provide strategic oversight of manufacturing and supply planning across the network, balancing customer demand, production capability and broader supply chain priorities.
  • Partner with manufacturing sites to assess and improve planning assumptions, including production rates, changeovers, sequencing and available capacity.
  • Coordinate national raw material and packaging requirements, working closely with Procurement and site teams to ensure supply continuity and proactively manage potential shortages.
  • Manage and consolidate material ordering at a national level, ensuring sites have the inventory required to support production plans.
  • Review site plans and challenge opportunities to improve production flow, sequencing, planning discipline and overall network efficiency.
  • Maintain visibility of inventory across the network, identifying variances, stock risks and opportunities to improve inventory positioning.
  • Evaluate warehouse capacity and operational constraints, recommending changes to product flows, stock allocation and network utilisation where required.
  • Bring together Production, Logistics, Procurement and Planning stakeholders to resolve supply constraints, bottlenecks and emerging risks.
  • Support the S&OP process through supply modelling, scenario planning and clear analysis of capacity, constraints and potential business impacts.
  • Work with key stakeholders to maintain accurate planning data, parameters and system inputs, ensuring a consistent and reliable planning environment.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities across supply planning, production planning, inventory strategy and network performance.
  • Use data and commercial insight to identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency, resilience and cost across the end-to-end supply network.
Your Background

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Solid experience within a manufacturing based environment across FMCG, Food, Beverage, Dairy or similarly aligned industry. Must have managed Supply Planning, Production Planning, or S&OP.
  • Proven ability of working at pace and taking autonomy for decisions, whilst having the skills to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing the supply side of the S&OP process across a business previously.
  • Must have the curiosity to solve problems and lead on CI projects, whilst establishing process for the business.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to articulate strategy based on the findings from the data.
  • Strong user of Excel, Power BI and exposure to ERP.
