Job summary

Bravus Mining and Resources’ Carmichael mine is an open cut thermal coal operation in the North Galilee Basin. The Supervisor Infrastructure leads maintenance and development of site infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable operations, overseeing roads, facilities and services, with a 7/7 roster.

Reporting to Specialist Maintenance, the role focuses on safety, contractor coordination, preventative maintenance, and compliance with regulatory requirements to support large-scale, efficient site

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure supervisory role within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of mine site infrastructure including roads, drainage, utilities and accommodation facilities.
• Demonstrated contractor management and infrastructure project coordination experience.
• Current Mining Supervisor Qualifications (G1, G8, G9) and G2 Risk Management certification.
• Current Standard 11 Queensland Coal Board Medical and Queensland Class C Driver Licence.

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all infrastructure activities.
• Supervise the maintenance and development of site roads, drainage, buildings and associated infrastructure.
• Coordinate contractors and internal teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for infrastructure assets.
• Monitor infrastructure conditions and proactively identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
• Manage procurement and inventory requirements for infrastructure works.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting for infrastructure maintenance and projects.
• Build strong working relationships with operational stakeholders to support site requirements.

Job description

Bravus Mining and Resources’ Carmichael mine is an open cut thermal coal mine in the North Galilee Basin, approximately 160 kilometres northwest of the town of Clermont.

Carmichael produces more than 12 million tonnes of thermal coal for the export market each year.

More than 1400 people are engaged in permanent roles at Carmichael and workers travel to site on direct flights from Townsville, Rockhampton, Cairns, or Mackay (a flight time of approximately 55 minutes). Those team members who live in the Isaac region have the option to drive-in and drive-out with individual travel and fatigue management plans in place.

About The Role

Reporting to the Specialist Maintenance, the Supervisor Infrastructure is responsible for leading the maintenance and development of mine site infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations. The role oversees infrastructure projects, contractor performance, preventative maintenance programs and the ongoing upkeep of critical site assets including roads, facilities and services.

This role operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off (7/7) roster, providing an excellent work-life balance.

• Strong knowledge of mine site infrastructure including roads, drainage, utilities and accommodation facilities.
• Demonstrated contractor management and infrastructure project coordination experience.
• Current Mining Supervisor Qualifications (G1, G8, G9) and G2 Risk Management certification.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement
• Current Standard 11, Queensland Coal Board Medical and Queensland Class C Driver Licence.
