Job summary

ACCIONA, through the ACEREZ joint venture, is seeking a dedicated Supervisor – Civil to lead civil works for the Central-West Orana REZ project. You will oversee subcontractors, ensure safety, design compliance, and timely delivery of high‑voltage infrastructure in a rostered, camp-style setup.

You will bring 5+ years of civil supervision, strong leadership, and solid knowledge of regulatory requirements, with proven ability to coordinate across teams and maintain high quality and safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a supervisor in civil scopes (foundations, piling, bulk earthworks)
• Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above
• Ability to work effectively with others and demonstrate leadership
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Understands specifications and drawings; ensures subcontractor compliance
• Regulatory requirements compliant; plans and organises work schedules
• HS&E knowledge and implementation, with ability to enforce safety standards
• Clear verbal and written communication; can issue directions to workers

Job Description

An 80-year group,COBRA promotes its own efficient business model, the result of the combination of decentralization, geographical diversification and technical specialization of more than 20,000 professionals in more than 43 countries. Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets.

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.

The project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.

The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Supervisor – Civil to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction works meet specifications and relevant standards

• Takes responsibility for the quality of work under their supervision.

• Ensures that all construction works undertaken and completed are in conformance with the specification and relevant standards and Code of Practice

• Checks to ensure whatever actions are required under Hold and Witness Points have been performed prior to commencing work.

• Ensure all workers have received a project specific induction that explains all hazards present on the project and the control measures to be followed before beginning working activities.

• Adopt a zero tolerance to work practices and equipment that may be unsafe or have serious adverse Safety or environmental impact.

• Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority.

• Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated.

• Provides positive leadership to subcontractors, monitors and controls their performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is performed.

• Drives commitment to quality both top down and bottom up.

• Ensures compliance with all ACEREZ D&C management system procedures including Plant Operator Assessments, verifies Daily Checklists, Weekly Checklists and works with Permits where required.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Preferable 5+ years’ experience as a supervisor – on civil scopes including foundations, piling, bulk earthworks,
• Preferable experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
• Presented problem solving / analytical skills.
• Understands specifications and drawings
• Experience in managing subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures
• Demonstrated relevant leadership skills.
• Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
• Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
• Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same
• Self-confident and able to persuade, convince or impressive others to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
• Good at multi-tasking and demonstrates sound judgments, including balancing competing issues.
• Must be able to issue clear directions to construction workers.
• Clear communication – verbal and written.

Supervisor positions are bus in, bus out, camp style accommodation provided for 14 days onsite and 7 days off site, on a roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region.
