Job summary

Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. on the Gold Coast seeks a driven Superintendent, Infrastructure Service to lead the infrastructure service team and oversee construction, maintenance, and strategic execution of surface facilities for plant operations.

Reporting to Operations Manager, this role manages Capex initiatives, budgets, and maintenance to maximize performance while meeting HSE standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, at least 10 years in infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive infrastructure engineering, project control, execution and commissioning experience in heavy industrial/mining environments.
• Proven track record in supervisory or managerial roles with budgeting and leadership responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering, surface facility maintenance, and structural integrity standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; knowledge of CAD/BIM tools is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills across teams.
• English fluency in written and spoken.

Job description

We are seeking a highly driven and technically adept Superintendent, Infrastructure Service to lead the infrastructure service team and oversee the construction, maintenance, and strategic execution of surface facilities for plant operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing capital expenditure initiatives, infrastructure project budgets, and facility maintenance to maximize functional performance while adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental objectives.

This position involves prioritizing project portfolios, providing solutions to complex construction problems, and ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required technical standards. In addition, the position coordinates closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and external contracting resources to optimize costs, drive continuous improvement, and foster a high-performance culture across all infrastructure service functions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide overall technical and operational leadership for the infrastructure service team, ensuring alignment with plant availability, production, and safety goals.

• Direct and oversee the planning, engineering, execution, and commissioning of construction projects and surface infrastructure facilities.

• Accountable for maintaining the structural integrity of all plant and site infrastructure assets.

• Manage capital project spending and prepare quarterly and monthly capital expenditure (Capex) and budget forecasts.

• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Legal teams to identify cost-reduction opportunities and optimize resource allocation.

• Evaluate project feasibility and engineering proposals; resolve complex construction and structural challenges.

• Manage internal manpower and external contracting resources to ensure project execution complies with budget, schedule, and safety guidelines.

• Establish clear performance metrics, work objectives, and succession plans to promote team development and departmental sustainability.

• Ensure strict compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, regulatory requirements, and Occupational Health and Safety Acts.

• Serve as an active member of the leadership team, promoting continuous improvement, innovation, and engineering excellence.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field (Professional Engineering designation or equivalent professional license preferred).

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering, project control, execution, and commissioning within heavy industrial, mining, or construction environments.

• Proven track record in a supervisory or managerial capacity with strong practical experience in team leadership, project management, and budget control.

• Solid technical understanding of civil engineering, surface facility maintenance, and structural integrity standards.

• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; knowledge of computer-aided design and management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, BIM software, or PMP certification) is highly advantageous.

• Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and diverse teams.

• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
