Job summary

Anglicare WA is recruiting a Student Wellbeing Officer based at Menzies Community School in Brisbane, QLD. The role is part-time (7.5 hours per week) until 29 January 2027, focusing on engaging students, connecting them with staff, and delivering wellbeing workshops.

The successful candidate will have a Cert IV in Youth Work or equivalent, knowledge of youth issues, and the ability to work within diverse school communities. An appropriate clearances and compliance checks are required.

Qualifications

• Cert IV in Youth Work or relevant qualification that permits registration as a counsellor/teacher/social worker/psychologist/nurse or midwife.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic school environment.
• Contemporary knowledge of issues impacting children and young people.
• Ability to accept and work with children and young people from diverse backgrounds and abilities, cultures, and sexual orientations.
• Understanding of the education system.
• Ability to facilitate small groups.

Responsibilities

• Engage with students through school-based activities and connect them with professional staff.
• Provide outreach to disengaged students and families.
• Support young people to access community services.
• Facilitate school wellbeing workshops or programs.
