Job summary

Lakes Entrance Primary School in Victoria is seeking an Education Support Class member to assist teachers, coordinate routines, and support students with their learning and wellbeing. The role requires working under supervision to provide practical help in classrooms and to help deliver educational programs.

You will supervise groups of students, support health and wellbeing tasks, assist with data entry and communication with families, and help maintain an orderly classroom in line with school

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with guidelines and frameworks.
• SC2: Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment.
• SC3: Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high level oral and written communication.
• SC4: Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
• SC5: Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine support for teachers including assisting with planning of student routines
• Supports communication between teachers and parents
• Communicates with teachers on routine matters related to students and/or other responsibilities
• Provides basic physical care and wellbeing support for students
• Communicating with student/s to support comprehension of basic tasks and information
• Addresses immediate behavioural presentations related to students within a classroom setting
• Provides basic support and supervision for groups of up to 4 students
• Supports teachers in coordinating educational programs and rostering the work of aides
• Provides medical intervention support to a student, under guidance
• Provides specialist communication support for AUSLAN and braille
