The Department of Education in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking a 0.6 FTE AH4 Clinician to join the North Eastern Metropolitan Area Student Support Service teams, based at Fitzroy High School. This senior clinician role provides flexible, trauma-informed support for children and adolescents, working within a multidisciplinary team to address complex presentations and support learning engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide flexible service across four priority areas of critical incidents, acute issues/complex cases, prevention/capability building and short to medium term intervention.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with local service providers to support student wellbeing.
  • Engage with educational staff to support learning engagement and attendance for diverse learners.

The Department of Education is looking for a skilled and passionate AH4 clinician to join the
North Eastern Metropolitan Area Student Support Service teams.

0.6 FTE AH4 Clinician, ongoing position in the Yarra Network, based at Fitzroy High School. This is a senior clincian position.

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Division

Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school perform......ance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.

This role is located in the Student Support Services (SSS) Branch, NEMA, North Western Victoria Region, SRS. The Student Support Services Branch is an Area based multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team which comprises psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, BCBA and social workers.

The Student Support ServicesBranch is an Area based multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team. If you arepassionate about child and adolescent development, trauma informed practices, complexpresentations and consulting with educational staff around behavioural and environmentaladjustments to support learning engagement, and like working in a collaborativemultidisciplinary team - then a role in the SSS is the job for you.

The successful applicant will be a valuable member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for providing a flexible service across 4 priorities areas of critical incidents, acute issues/complex cases, prevention/capability building and short to medium term intervention. This work will involve a range of assessments and interventions as well as providing significant collaborative networking opportunities with local service providers.

Required:
