Job summary

North West Queensland is seeking a dedicated teacher aide to support teachers and students in Mount Isa. You will assist with sporting activities, excursions, and supervision, while helping manage equipment and maintain student records.

Role requires first aid training, a Working with Children Check/Blue Card, and a respectful, confidential approach to students and families. Training in special needs support and literacy/numeracy materials is valued.

Qualifications

• Reading aloud and storytelling for diverse learners.
• Ability to support literacy and numeracy activities.
• First aid training and willingness to maintain qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sporting activities and school excursions.
• Assist in management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
• Maintain anecdotal records for student development reviews.
• Display respect, empathy, and confidentiality with students and families.
• Provide clerical support: typing, photocopying, bus lists, exam papers, results records.
• Supervise education activities under teacher direction.
• Prepare, store and handle teaching equipment and materials.
• Support playground and bus supervision.
• Deliver first aid when needed and keep qualifications current.
• Assist students with special needs and daily care where required.
• Read aloud, storytelling, laundering linens, care of equipment.
• Support literacy and numeracy with materials for at-risk students.
