Job summary

University of New South Wales seeks a proactive Student Business Analyst to shape the LMS transformation, working with students and faculties to capture requirements and design scalable, user-centric solutions.

You will partner with Human Centred Designers and LMS delivery teams to ensure outcomes align with strategic priorities and improve student experience, engagement, and operations across the university.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence.
• A minimum of 3 years professional experience in business analysis or equivalent business experience.
• Knowledge of project management methods, tools and the SDLC.
• Knowledge of professional BA techniques (e.g. Use Case Analysis, UML).
• Well-developed skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools.
• Experience in LMS environments (Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead student business analysis activities on the LMS Program including requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across faculties, divisions, and technical teams to document requirements and align outcomes with priorities.
• Coordinate and facilitate student LMS feedback and assessments as the voice of the student.
• Analyse current and future business processes and assess impacts of proposed changes.
• Facilitate discovery activities to elicit stakeholder needs and validate pain points.
• Define functional and non-functional requirements with traceability throughout delivery.
• Contribute to business case outcomes, including benefit analysis and risk assessments.
• Work with LMS delivery teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with enterprise systems.
• Support change management and transition planning with stakeholder impacts.
• Participate in testing phases by defining test scenarios and supporting UAT.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of BA standards and templates.
• Stay informed on higher education trends and digital transformation best practices.
