Job summary

Bornhorst + Ward is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Brisbane design team. You will work on a wide variety of projects, handling structural analysis, modeling and documentation, while collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure buildable, compliant designs.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years’ experience in structural design, with proficiency in SpaceGASS, ETABS and related tools, and a solid grasp of Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in structural engineering design.
• Active or completed registration as an engineer (RPEQ preferred).

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for building structures and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review drawings, models, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions.
• Liaise with clients, architects and consultants to ensure design alignment.
• Attend design meetings and conduct occasional site inspections.

Bornhorst + Ward is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design team in Brisbane and work on a wide variety of exciting projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' experience in structural engineering design and be adept at working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake structural analysis and design for a wide variety of building structures and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal design and drafting teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and consultants to ensure alignment throughout the design process.
• Attend design meetings and conduct occasional site inspections.

Key Requirements:

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in structural engineering design with hands on experience with design of steel and concrete structures.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Have obtained, or is actively working towards RPEQ.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as SpaceGASS, RAPT, RAM Concept, ETABS, or Inducta.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards and local industry practices.
• Strong grasp of concrete and steel design fundamentals.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Proficient in tools such as Bluebeam, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Passionate about engineering, with a desire to grow professionally and contribute to team success.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a design team, communicate seamlessly with our drafting team, and maintain productive client relationships.
