Job summary

Eastern Health is seeking a Stroke Neurologist and Clinical Lead for Neurointerventional Services to guide the ongoing development of our neurointerventional program while delivering high-quality stroke care across Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals.

The role requires extensive experience in mechanical thrombectomy and leadership in service development, with responsibilities across hyperacute and subacute stroke care. The position supports flexible, part-time hours in Melbourne’s east.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the RACP or equivalent specialist qualification for Neurologist in Australia.
• Current membership of ANZAN.
• Current registration on the INR Register.
• Substantial experience in mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischaemic stroke.
• Completion of or willingness to complete the RACP SPDP within 12 months of start.
• Experience teaching and supervising medical students, interns, HMOs and advanced trainees.
• Experience delivering education to multidisciplinary staff, including nursing and allied health.
• Experience leading service development, change management or quality improvement within a stroke or neurointerventional service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the neurointerventional service within Eastern Health.
• Deliver exceptional stroke care across the network.
• Collaborate with Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals to enhance hyperacute and subacute stroke therapies.
• Support future development of acute stroke therapies and the neurointerventional suite.
