Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Street Sweeping Operator to join the Waste Management & Cleansing team in the NSW Sydney area. This permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week) focuses on operating street sweeping vehicles and maintaining public spaces to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Suitably qualified candidate to join Public Waste & Cleansing Services team.
• Experience and knowledge operating and basic maintenance of Rosmech street sweepers is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operating full size and compact mechanical street sweeping vehicles safely, in a variety of traffic and weather conditions.
• Providing scheduled and ad-hoc sweeping service in designated streets, carparks and other public areas, ensuring clean and tidy public spaces.
• Conducting manual sweeping to remove litter, debris, leaves and other materials from gutters where mechanical sweeping is not possible.
• Perform pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment and reporting any defects to ensure equipment and operations are safe.
• Conduct basic routine maintenance on equipment, to ensure machinery is fully operational and to minimise service interruptions.
• Comply with all applicable state and local legislations with regard to Work Health & Safety and Chain of Responsibilities.
