ABN Group in Melbourne is seeking a Strategy Analyst to join the Technology team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role blends technology strategy with broader business strategy to influence ABN Group’s future performance across markets.

You will act as an internal consultant, collaborating with senior technology leaders to frame strategic problems, evaluate options, and translate data and market insights into clear, actionable recommendations that drive growth and improved outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, corporate strategy, transformation or similar analytical advisory role.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Strategy Analyst to join our Technology team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a strategy role within Technology, with an equal focus on technology strategy and broader business strategy. While you will sit within the Technology function, your work will extend well beyond technology itself, helping shape strategic choices across the business and exploring how technology, operating models, market trends and business priorities come together to influence ABN Group’s future performance and growth.

This position is ideal for candidates with proven experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or a similar environment, with exposure to work at the intersection of business and technology. Acting as an internal consultant, you will navigate ambiguous challenges, analyse complex information, and translate data and market insights into clear strategic recommendations. Working closely with senior Technology leaders and stakeholders across the business, you will support strategic decision-making, evaluate trade-offs, and help drive key initiatives that deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market, industry and competitor research to identify trends, emerging opportunities and implications for ABN Group’s business and technology strategy.
• Frame and analyse strategic business and technology problems, developing clear options, trade-offs and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with business and technology leaders to develop, evaluate and refine strategic initiatives and long-term plans.
• Synthesize complex data, research and stakeholder perspectives into clear insights, executive presentations and decision-ready recommendations.
• Support the development of business cases, strategic assessments and other analysis required to evaluate opportunities and investment choices.
• Utilise data analysis tools and reporting frameworks to identify opportunities, risks, performance trends and business insights.
• Support selected strategic initiatives from strategy through to execution, including planning, stakeholder alignment, governance and tracking of key outcomes.

About You

• Proven experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, corporate strategy, transformation or a similar analytical advisory role, ideally working across business and technology.
• Strong structured problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, develop hypotheses and identify practical strategic options.
• Strong market research, strategic planning and data analysis capabilities, with the ability to identify opportunities and inform business decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop clear, concise and executive-ready presentations and recommendations, including advanced PowerPoint capability.
• A strategic and commercially minded approach, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Relevant tertiary education in Technology, Information Systems, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Previous experience with financial modelling or within the construction industry is highly regarded but not essential.
