Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the District Allied Health team as the MLHD Social Work Advisor. This role provides leadership, governance and professional advice for social workers across the district.

Base location is negotiable within the MLHD footprint and preferred for someone with an existing clinical role in the district. The role includes strategic planning, governance representation and service delivery leadership.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for AASW membership.
• Experience in leadership/management within complex health care delivery.
• Understanding of modern Social Work models, especially in rural/regional health services.
• Expertise in clinical governance, service planning/delivery, and workforce issues.
• Ability to implement innovative service models and professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic/planning advice to MLHD management and executives.
• Support service managers and department heads in Social Work delivery.
• Represent and participate in MLHD and NSW Health groups to promote governance.
