Job summary

The Department of Education in Western Australia seeks a Senior Program Coordinator to lead the Swimming and Water Safety team, coordinating people, resources and logistics to deliver statewide programs for 5–17 year olds.

Based in the Perth area with future relocation plans, you will drive recruitment, staff development and strategic partnerships with schools and industry, ensuring high‑quality, well‑resourced education delivery across the state.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex programmes.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and resolve complex interpersonal and workforce matters with professionalism, empathy and clear direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for coordinating people, resources and logistics to deliver high-quality swimming programs across the State.
• Provide clear direction and oversight to ensure programs are planned, resourced and delivered to a consistently high standard.
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships with participating schools and industry partners for coordinated education delivery across Western Australia.
• Identify and drive improvements in recruitment, retention and development of swimming staff to align with long-term operational needs.
