Job summary

The ACT Government is recruiting a communications adviser in the Government Communication Unit. The role provides strategic communication and engagement advice to Ministers and coordinates content across social media and web platforms.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will help disseminate key messages across channels, write for online platforms, and work with ACT Government Directorates to engage Canberra communities.

Qualifications

• High level oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of the use of digital media platforms and content creation.
• Tertiary qualification in communication or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to perform under pressure with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic communication and engagement advice to Ministers.
• Coordinate content across social media and web platforms.
• Prepare materials to support public announcements and engage with the Canberra community.
• Work with ACT Government Directors on engagement strategies and priorities.
