Job summary

The Union Dairy Company in Warrnambool is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting function, mentor the finance team, and drive continuous improvement. Based in Warrnambool, you will report to the CFO and play a key role in strategic financial management for a growing dairy processing business.

The role requires a tertiary accounting qualification with CA/CPA, 5+ years of post-graduate experience, and strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Requires tertiary accounting qualification and CA/CPA designation.
• 5+ years of postgraduate accounting experience in a commercial environment.
• Proven people leadership and performance management experience.
• Experience in accounting, tax, and statutory compliance for medium to large organisations.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all accounting activities under the direction of the CFO
• Provide hands-on management and leadership to the finance team
• Manage financial reporting obligations including income tax, BAS and Payroll tax
• Develop and maintain finance systems with the team
• Manage month-end and year-end processes
• Ensure statutory compliance and reporting at State and Federal levels
• Lead internal audit and oversee external audit program
• Foster relationships with senior management and stakeholders
