Job summary

Babcock Australasia is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to provide strategic commercial leadership across the business. Reporting to the Commercial Director, this pivotal role can be based anywhere in Australia and will work closely with Delivery Units and Functional leaders to drive business performance, manage commercial risk, and support sustainable growth across critical programs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial teams in defence, government, or project-based environments.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and enable strategic decisions.
• Experience with contracts, negotiation, and risk management.
• Experience managing major bids and strategic pursuits.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks and Delegations of Authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership across the business and critical programs.
• Direct the full commercial lifecycle from opportunity identification to close-out.
• Shape commercial strategy, pricing approaches, and governance requirements.
• Lead complex negotiations and manage commercial risks and disputes.
• Develop relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Support growth through major pursuits and bid activities.
