Job summary

Bouygues Construction Australia is seeking a Cost Planner in Perth to support project teams by preparing and updating cost plans throughout construction. You will forecast costs, assess design information, and help ensure alignment with budget and financial objectives.

Working with project managers, design teams, quantity surveyors, and contractors, you will communicate cost information clearly to support planning, decision-making, and value-for-money options while maintaining rigorous cost

Qualifications

• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in cost planning or estimating within the construction industry.
• Familiarity with cost-management processes, procurement, and project budgets.
• Ability to explain cost information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update cost plans, estimates, and project budgets at different design/construction stages.
• Review drawings, specifications, and schedules to identify cost requirements and gaps.
• Develop cost estimates using measurement, pricing, benchmarking, and forecasting methods.
• Monitor project costs against the budget and report variances, risks, and trends.
• Assess cost impact of design changes and proposed alternatives.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support value engineering.
• Obtain and review cost information from suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate cost records, assumptions, and documentation.
• Provide cost updates for project reviews and management decisions.
• Contribute to risk assessments, contingency planning, and financial forecasting.
